HI, I’M KELLY.
Psychologist & Yoga Therapist
Since I can remember, I have had a fascination with the human condition and a drive to understand how to not only nurture healing, but foster flourishing and thriving. My own experience with anxiety, insecurity, and low energy led me to seek, personally and professionally, Western and Eastern training in philosophy and psychology (education & training below).
I have dedicated my life to practicing, embodying, and disseminating the overlapping wisdom from Eastern and Western traditions to facilitate greater healing, peace, and connection for the individual and greater community.
My Approach
As a holistic psychologist (education & training below), I draw from a myriad of Eastern and Western practices, philosophies, and research to address life's questions and difficulties through approaches that target the body, mind, community, and spirit.
I pursue healing, wellness, and thriving through addressing disconnection and dis-ease in three main areas: 1) the physical body and the mind/emotions, 2) our relationships and involvement in our families and community, and 3) our connection with something that is greater than us - call this love, connection with nature, spirituality, God, the Universe, etc.
My overarching goal for all my clients is to achieve a tangible and stable feeling of physical and mental calm in order to increasingly feel joy and more easily navigate life's stressors.
I view therapy as time limited. My hope is for you to gain tangible insights and tools in therapy and, when you are ready, to exit therapy and live your life. Of course, the door is always open to refresh, revise, and add additional tools.
When working with me, practices and tools that I may utilize with you (depending on your needs/desires) entail:
Support in gaining greater clarity of what you want to accomplish or change through therapy along with uncovering additional levels of internal motivation for achieving your goals and desires.
Identification of disconnection and subsequent changes to live in accordance with values, life purpose, and passions.
Deep exploration of the underlying root of unwanted/painful/difficult thoughts and emotions (for example, anger is often a secondary emotion, under which is often something in the realm of hurt, fear, doubt, insecurity, unworthiness) to foster deep healing.
An examination of your underlying beliefs, perspectives, world views, life philosophies, etc. to identify and work with beliefs that might be hindering your ability to thrive.
Addressing lifestyle practices (routine, sleep & wake habits, eating habits, body movement/exercise, diet) to help support our body and minds to be able to function at their best.
Breathwork, mindfulness, being in the present moment, and rest for stress reduction, nervous system regulation, and increased capacity to experience appreciation and joy in daily living.
Ways for you to do this growth work not only for your personal benefit, but in ways that also benefit your family/friends/community.
Additional tools available in working with me entail: healing grief, couples therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for anxiety, depression, & addiction, and Motivational Interviewing and Behavioral Activation for increasing motivation towards and achievement of goals.
